A Rothmans Launch, Now Produced by BAT in Poland
The brand is owned by British American Tobacco p.l.c., the tobacco group formed in 1902 with headquarters in London and a listing on the London Stock Exchange. It was launched in 1987 by Rothmans International under the names Superslims and Superslims Menthol, and it entered the BAT portfolio through the merger of the two groups in 1999. British American Tobacco states that its Polish operation manufactures the brand alongside Pall Mall, Lucky Strike, Rothmans and Kent at the Augustów factory in Poland, one of twelve factories in the group’s Europe region. The brand reached the Polish market in 1993 as the first super slim cigarette range sold there. Until the end of 2023 it was also produced at BAT’s Boncourt plant in Switzerland, after which BAT moved production to larger sites within Europe.
